McKague Millard was founded on a simple but powerful belief: families deserve the highest level of care when honoring their loved ones. In 1990, Reid Millard acquired Houser Funeral Service in Jefferson City, Missouri, seeking to step away from corporate ownership and return to what matters most – family-owned, locally driven service. From the beginning, his vision was clear: listen to families, pay attention to the meaningful details, and lead with excellence.
As the McKague Millard family has grown, so has its mission. Across Missouri, from Jefferson City and Columbia, to the Lake of the Ozarks, St. Louis, Springfield, and as far north as Kirksville, our family of funeral homes is united by the same commitment: providing resources to support families in their communities, while preserving the traditional values that make each community unique.
Owned and operated by Reid Millard, Nick McKague, and Autum McKague, McKague Millard isn’t a distant corporation; it’s a family. While our structure allows us to give local funeral directors the tools they need to better serve, our roots remain grounded in people, family, and community.
